About Air Force Falcons Men's Basketball

The Air Force Falcons men's basketball team represents the United States Air Force Academy in NCAA Division I competition as a member of the Mountain West Conference, playing home games at Clune Arena in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The program began competing in the late 1950s under founding coach Bob Spear and has made four NCAA Tournament appearances, in 1960, 1962, 2004, and 2006, with a combined record of 0 wins and 4 losses. The program's most successful era came in the early 2000s under coach Joe Scott, when the Falcons won the Mountain West regular-season title in 2004 and reached the 2007 NIT semifinals. The program's most celebrated alumnus is Gregg Popovich, the Hall of Fame San Antonio Spurs head coach. Emphasizing discipline, fundamentals, and military values, the Falcons continue to compete in one of college basketball's strongest mid-major conferences.
