The band was founded by frontman and vocalist Taz Johnson, and after early lineup changes settled into a core group that included guitarist Sam Patt, bassist Alex Wieringa, and drummer Brian Lada. Their self-released debut EP Vicissitude was produced by Mat Kerekes of Citizen and his brother; in 2016 they signed to Mutant League Records and released the EP Between You & Me, building a devoted following through relentless touring. Their self-titled debut full-length (August 17, 2018, Mutant League) nearly topped Billboard's Heatseekers and Alternative New Artist charts — propelled by singles "Hollowed Out," "Albert," and "Pushing Daisies" — and established them as one of the most exciting acts carrying on Chicago's rich pop-punk tradition. After signing to Pure Noise Records, the trio — Johnson, Lada, and guitarist Jason Inguagiato (who joined in 2018) — released sophomore album Aftermath (March 4, 2022, Pure Noise), produced by Andrew Wade (A Day to Remember, Neck Deep, Real Friends), a genre-bending twelve-track record incorporating trap drums, nu-metal, Chicago drill, and electronic elements alongside the band's signature pop-punk energy. Third album Liminal (April 12, 2024, Pure Noise), also produced by Wade, further expanded their eclectic sound. The current lineup consists of Johnson, Lada, and Inguagiato.
