The Pleasure and the Greed (2001) — highlighted by a special show at Toronto's Roy Thompson Hall with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the Uzume Taiko Ensemble — also charted in the Canadian Top Ten before the band disbanded in 2003, with Thornley pursuing a solo career. After reconnecting, Thornley and Doherty reformed Big Wreck; comeback album Albatross (2012, Anthem/Warner Music Canada) debuted at number five on the Canadian Albums chart, with the title track holding number one on Canadian Rock radio for six consecutive weeks and earning the CASBY Award for Favourite New Album. Ghosts (2014) earned a Juno nomination for Rock Album of the Year and debuted at number four on the US Billboard Heatseekers chart. Grace Street (2017) and 7 (2023) continued their creative momentum. The current lineup of Thornley, Doherty, Paulo Neta, Dave McMillan, and Sekou Lumumba remains one of Canada's most celebrated live acts.
