About Daphni

Daphni is the club-focused alias of Dan Snaith, the Canadian producer and DJ better known as Caribou. He began the project as a near-anonymous outlet for tracks he had made purely to play in his own DJ sets, releasing the debut album Jiaolong in 2012, followed by Joli Mai in 2017 and Cherry in 2022. Snaith traces his approach to nights spent at the London club Plastic People watching Theo Parrish, Four Tet and Floating Points. His fourth Daphni album, Butterfly, arrived in February 2026 on his own Jiaolong label, led by "Waiting So Long," a single credited to Daphni featuring Caribou on which Snaith sings for the first time under this name.
