Shehade, born and raised in Chicago, spent his teenage years DJing at clothing shops and record stores before transitioning into music production — building a résumé that included studio work with Chance the Rapper (Acid Rap), Kanye West (G.O.O.D. Music's Cruel Summer), Chief Keef, and Vic Mensa. Rosa grew up touring with her parents' reggae band, homeschooled into her early teens on a diet of Sade, oldies, Brazilian music, and Afrobeat; after moving to Chicago she connected with hip-hop collective THEMPeople before meeting Shehade at his studio. The duo debuted with the EP Gallows in November 2016, followed by Lies After Love (2018), before signing with Ghostly International for their debut full-length Dance Without Me (February 14, 2020) — an 11-track record blending Chicago house rhythms and R&B sensibilities. Don't Wait Up (2022) and Till We Die (2023) followed, alongside collaborations with Gorgon City ("Nobody," 2020) and Poolside ("I Feel High," 2021). Their fourth album Platonic Romance arrived in 2026.
