The Harvard Crimson women's basketball team represents Harvard University in NCAA Division I competition as a member of the Ivy League. The Crimson play their home games at Lavietes Pavilion. Known for their team-oriented play, disciplined defense, and smart offensive execution, the program balances athletic and academic excellence. Harvard has made seven NCAA Tournament appearances, most recently in 2025, when the Crimson won their first-ever Ivy League Tournament title and returned to March Madness for the first time since 2007 under head coach Carrie Moore. The program also holds a unique place in NCAA history as the first team, men's or women's, to defeat a No. 1 seed as a No. 16 seed, upsetting Stanford in 1998. With a tradition of Ivy League championships and standout student-athletes, Harvard continues to strengthen its presence in Division I women's basketball.
