He built his reputation running his own nightclub, Bedrock, booking Carl Cox and The Prodigy, and his break came when Sasha played there and offered him a residency at Renaissance in Mansfield. The two went on to record the Renaissance: The Mix Collection and Northern Exposure series, and held a monthly residency at Twilo in New York from 1997. Digweed later carried the Bedrock name into a recording project with Nick Muir, behind "Heaven Scent," and a record label. In 2001 DJ Magazine voted him the world's number one DJ.
