About BABYMETAL
BABYMETAL is a Japanese kawaii metal band. Formed in Tokyo in 2010, the trio combines elements of heavy metal and J-pop.
BABYMETAL’s History
BABYMETAL was formed as a sub-unit of the Japanese idol group known as Sakura Gakuin. They quickly gained popularity with their debut single "Doki Doki ☆ Morning" in 2011. Its first studio album, BABYMETAL, released in 2014 attained the top ten position in Japan and earned several accolades.
Their big international debut was at the Sonisphere Festival and Reading and Leeds Festival in 2014. BABYMETAL has since performed around the globe and collaborated with other metal bands.
