About Brandi Carlile

Brandie Carlile was born June 1, 1981, in Ravensdale, Washington—a tiny town outside of Seattle—and the multi-genre country artist has won two Emmy Awards, 11 Grammy Awards, as well as being nominated for an Academy Award.

With this latest release, Returning to Myself (2025)—which includes the title track “Returning to Myself”—Carlile now has eight studio albums, and in 2019, she formed the supergroup The Highwomen with Natalie Hemby, Maren Morris, and Amanda Shires.

The 44-year-old came out as a lesbian in 2002 and married spouse Catherine Shepard in Wareham, Massachusetts, on September 18, 2012. They have two daughters.
