In Edinburg, Texas, a group of friends founded the regional Mexican music ensemble Grupo Frontera in 2019. A group of artists from Nuevo León and Tamaulipas with strong ties to their Mexican heritage, the band combines tradition and modernity, catapulting them to fame by enthralling internet audiences on TikTok and YouTube.

Grupo Frontera also had an ambitious collaboration with the young Mexican phenom, Peso Pluma, in "Tulum," which peaked in the top 6 in the US Hot Latin Songs Billboard.
