Rod Stewart Tour Opener

For the 20 dates on the Rod Stewart tour 2025, he will be joined by Cheap Trick, an American rock band from Rockford, Illinois formed by Rick Nielsen (guitar), Robin Zander (lead vocals), Tom Petersson (bass), and Bun E. Carlos (drums). Cheap Trick’s current lineup is Nielsen, Zander, and Petersson.

When Carlos was recovering from back surgery in 2011, Rick Nielsen’s son Daxx Nielsen became the band’s drummer and has been filling that role on their tours ever since.

With over 20 million albums sold and an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016, Cheap Trick has a dedicated following and has had a number of big hits including Surrender, Downed, Southern Girls, The Flame, Dream Police, and Ain’t That a Shame.

How Long Are Rod Stewart Shows?

Shows from Rod Stewart range in length depending on the location, situation, and backup acts or co-starring acts. The shows for his residency in Las Vegas usually last about 1 hour and 30 minutes with a quick encore but with backup act Cheap Trick on the One Last Time tour and the special shows with Billy Joel, expect much longer concerts that could be in the two- to three-hours range.

A recent Rod Stewart show at the Hard Rock Event Centre in Tampa, Florida on February 26, 2025 had 21 songs in it.
