It’s been two years since The Weeknd released Dawn FM, the second album of a trilogy that started with After Hours. Now The Canadian R&B star has released Hurry Up Tomorrow, on January 31, 2025, marking the final installment of his trilogy following After Hours and Dawn FM.
The Weeknd set the social media on fire with an Instagram post revealing the highly anticipated After Hours Til Dawn 2025 Stadium Tour, featuring special guests Playboi Carti and Mike dean. The fans can gear up for an unforgettable musicial experience spanning across North America.
The final act of The Weeknd’s album trilogy, Hurry Up Tomorrow, was released on January 31, 2025, through XO and Republic Records. With over 75 million records sold, The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, has cemented his place in music history. He has also suggested that this may be his final release under the name The Weeknd, hinting at a possible rebranding of his musical persona.
The Weeknd has earned seven RIAA diamond certifications and holds the record for the longest-charting song by a solo artist in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 with his hit Blinding Lights. Originally, The Weeknd had planned a one-off show at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, on January 25, 2025, but the event was canceled due to concerns over the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires. Instead, he has announced the After Hours Til Dawn 2025 Stadium Tour, which will kick off on May 9, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona, and conclude on September 3, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. The tour will feature special guests Playboi Carti and Mike Dean.

The Weeknd announced in May 2023 in an interview with W magazine, that he is aiming to “close the chapter” of his musical life under the stage name The Weeknd and may be using his birth name Abel Tesfaye in any future projects.
“It’s getting to a place and a time where I’m getting ready to close the Weeknd chapter, I’ll still make music, maybe as Abel, maybe as The Weeknd. But I still want to kill The Weeknd. And I will. Eventually. I’m trying to shed that skin and be reborn,”
Tesfaye said in the W interview.
In his illustrious career (as of August 2024), The Weeknd has racked up 18.5 certified album units and 126 million certified digital single units in the US and the Toronto product has nabbed four Grammy Awards, a Latin Grammy Award, 20 Billboard Music Awards, six American Music Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards, and nominations for a Primetime Emmy Award (The Pepsi Super Bowl LV Halftime Show Starring The Weeknd) and an Academy Award (“Earned It”).
What Else Does The Weeknd Currently Have in The Works?
The Weeknd isn’t just dropping albums, he’s also stepping into Hollywood. His feature film debut, Hurry Up Tomorrow, hits theaters on May 16, 2025, directed by Trey Edward Shults and co-starring Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan. The psychological thriller follows a musician battling insomnia who gets caught up in a mysterious and transformative journey.
And yes, the film shares its title with The Weeknd’s latest album, Hurry Up Tomorrow (released January 31, 2025), the final chapter in his trilogy following After Hours and Dawn FM. Expect the movie to carry the same dark, emotional, and cinematic vibes he’s known for.
