Tour Name: The Song is Over: The North American Farewell Tour North American Tour Dates: August 16, 2025-September 28, 2025 |
Roger Daltrey, Pete Townsend, and The Who have set out on their 2025 The Song is Over: The North American Farewell Tour this Summer as the London, England legends treat fans in the US and Canada to their last 16 live shows in August and September.
If there ever was a ticket worth having, this is it with Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members The Who serving up this "truly grand finale" to their storied career with fellow UK Rock legends The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd done as groups and The Rolling Stones the only icons still touring, this tour is a must-see if The Who are coming to your city.
The farewell tour kicked off on August 16 in Miami (Sunrise), Florida, and will run until September 28 in Las Vegas. The tour takes its name from the classic song “The Song Is Over” off the classic 1971 The Who album Who’s Next.
The Song is Over: The North American Farewell Tour will see The Who play some historic stadiums in the US, including Fenway Park in Boston, Madison Square Garden in New York City, the United Center in Chicago, and the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

About The Who
Formed in London, England, in 1964, The Who evolved from a group called The Detours and were known for destroying guitars and drums on stage. The group’s core four members for years were Pete Townsend, Roger Daltrey, John Entwistle, and Keith Moon. Bassist “The Ox” Entwistle died in 2002, while the charismatic Moon died in 1978.
The group’s first single was “I Can’t Explain” (1965), and it reached the UK Top Ten. Although The Who hasn’t had any No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 or UK Singles charts, they have produced a number of classic Rock songs over their six decades, and “My Generation” did make it to No. 2 in the UK.
The Who were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland in 1990 and played Live Aid at Wembley Stadium in London in 1985 as well as The Concert For New York City at Madison Square Garden in 2001 to honor 9/11 victims where they did hits “Who Are You,” “Baba O’Riley,” “ Behind Blue Eyes,” and “Won’t Get Fooled Again.”
When Rolling Stone ranked its 100 Greatest Artists, The Who checked in at a respectable No. 29.
