About Oasis

Oasis formed in Manchester in 1991 as an English rock band. At first, the band consisted of Liam Gallagher, Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs, Paul “Guigsy” McGuigan, and Tony McCarroll, but Liam asked his older brother Noel to join, and Noel became the leader of the group and took over the songwriting. Oasis is one of the most successful groups of the Britpop era. Their record-setting debut studio album was released in 1994, and Definitely Maybe climbed the charts and became the fastest-selling debut in British history. They released another album in 1995, (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? And it became the best-selling album in the UK. Founding members McGuigan and Arthurs left the band in 1999 and were replaced. The group broke up in 2009 when Noel Gallagher left, and some of the members continued playing together with a band called Beady Eye until 2014. The Gallagher brothers both had solo careers until Oasis reunited for a tour in 2025.
