About Papa Roach

Papa Roach is a rock band that formed in 1993 in Vacaville, California. The group released two EPs on their own before they were signed in 1999 and went on to put out Infest, which went triple platinum. Since that time, they have released a total of 11 studio albums, the last of which came out in 2022. Two of the original members met in high school and began adding members to their group. They entered a talent show, and while they didn’t win, they started practicing daily and touring quite a bit. They first called the band Papa Gato, but changed it to Papa Roach to honor the grandfathers of the group members who were also musicians. The band plans to release another album in 2025 and has put out a single from the upcoming release. They have been described as an alternative rock group, though they started as a hardcore punk band.
