The Grade 1, $1.25 million DraftKings Travers on August 29 is the centrepiece — first run in 1864, making it three years older than the Belmont Stakes and more than a decade older than the Kentucky Derby, and still the oldest stakes race for three-year-olds in the country. The track is dark Mondays and Tuesdays, with an additional dark Wednesday through July 26. Full five-day weeks resume July 29, and the 2026 meet closed with a six-day stretch from September 2 through Labor Day. Saratoga also hosted the Belmont Stakes Racing Festival from June 3-7, 2026 — the third and final time, with Golden Tempo winning the 158th Belmont on June 6.

What should I know before attending?

Travers Day sees extravagant outfits and hats throughout the grounds; buy tickets well in advance or arrive early with a tablecloth to claim a picnic table. Coolers are permitted in the backyard and apron areas. Saratoga Live airs daily across the FOX family of networks and streams on YouTube.
