The Bends are an alternative rock quartet bred in Baton Rouge and now based in Nashville, made up of Hayden Field on vocals and guitar, Ian Marmande on guitar, Chase Perkins on bass and Jacob Rhodes on drums. Marmande and Rhodes were childhood friends who linked up with Field and Perkins at Louisiana State University, where the band cut its teeth on marathon cover sets at college bars and frat parties. Their first original, "Makeup," took off after Zach Bryan called it the song of the year on Instagram, passing 6.2 million Spotify streams and opening the way for "Fair Weather" and the Leeward Drive EP. Better Than Ezra's Kevin Griffin produced and co-wrote "Virginia" and introduced them to Warner Records, where a debut album is in the works.
