About Wisconsin Herd
The Wisconsin Herd are a professional basketball team based in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, serving as the exclusive NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks. The team was announced in February 2017 and began play in the 2017–18 season, competing at Oshkosh Arena. The Herd's best season came in 2019–20, when they posted the league's best record at 33–10 before the season was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The team opted out of the 2020–21 single-site season held in Florida. In 2022–23, the Herd were named the NBA G League Franchise of the Year. As the Bucks' development affiliate, the Herd serves as a key pipeline for player assignments and two-way contracts, helping prepare prospects for NBA opportunities. The team has built a strong local following in the Fox Valley region of Wisconsin under the Bucks organization's ownership.
