Yep, Blink 182 are that band in that music video who ran naked around Los Angeles, which tells you almost everything you need to know about them. Almost, because aside from being known for their wild, rebellious (and, yes, exhibitionist) streak, the band also produced a string of hits throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s that brought them widespread mainstream appeal and saw several of their songs featured on soundtracks in Hollywood teen movies. Purists have at times derided them as too poppish to be really punk, but there is no denying that Blink 182’s combination of relentless thrumming guitar and upbeat vocals leaves fans feeling pumped up and positive after attending one of their concerts.
