Chevelle is a rock band that formed in 1995 in Grayslake, Illinois. The band started with two brothers, Pete and Sam Loeffler, along with Matt Scott, but Scott was later replaced with Joe Loeffler, another brother. Joe left the band and was replaced by a brother-in-law, Dean Bernardini. Their first studio album came out on a small record label, but their second album went platinum, as did their third release. They have sold over 6 million records, which also includes two live albums and two compilations. Each of the band members is self-taught in their instruments of choice and the band started playing small outdoor concerts and clubs in Chicago when their youngest member was only 14. They performed at Ozzfest in 2003 and released a live album from that recorded concert. They were nominated for Rock Band of the Year in 2012.
