Hadestown is a musical by Anaïs Mitchell that premiered first in 2006. The story takes up the ancient Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice and gives the legend a modern interpretation. The setting is a dystopian world. Orpheus follows his dead love Eurydice into the underworld to bring her back.
