Over Memorial Day weekend in 2024, Florida will host the historic Jacksonville Jazz Festival once again. For more than 40 years, jazz music has been honored at the festival. Now regarded as one of the largest jazz festivals in America, the event was once known as the Mayport and All Jazz Festival. It was started in 1979 by Jack Godbold. At the time, He was Florida's mayor. His goal was to raise Mayport's reputation in the community and its economic standing. The Jacksonville Jazz Piano Competition opens the four-day celebration. How Much Are Jacksonville Jazz Festival Tickets?

An amazing perk of the Jacksonville Jazz Festival is that it is free for all to attend. At its inception, the costs of production were fully sponsored by volunteers. As entertainers increased their performance rates, it became difficult to organize the show without charging attendees. However, the revenue from ticket sales was not enough to cover production costs. The result of this was no festivals in 2001 and 2002. The festival was, however, resurrected in 2003.
