Jinjer is a band that formed in the Ukraine in 2008. None of the original metalcore members remain. As one member replaced another, they released songs and eventually, won Best Ukrainian Metal Act award in 2013 and again in 2016. They released their first full-length album in 2014 and began touring internationally, though they booked their own shows. Once they completed several world tours, they released another full album. Jinjer paused the band’s career to help with Ukraine relief efforts in March of 2022, but began touring again as ambassadors of the nation in June that same year.
Tour Name: 2024 World Tour
Tour Dates: August 3-December 20
The Ukranian Ministry of Culture gave Jinjer permission to leave Ukraine in June 2022 to tour again, acting as ambassadors for the nation, which is in the midst of a war with Russia. Since that time, Jinjer has made it the band’s mission to spread their culture and music around the world. Their current world tour takes them through Romania, Spain and France as well as U.S. cities like Atlanta, Houston, and Sacramento.
Support for the Ukraine is widespread across the United States and this band is popular with metalcore fans. Music Fiends reviewed the April 24th concert in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and stated that fans lined up outside hours in advance to see the Jinjer foursome live. Since the group had played in this midwestern city before, they built a fan base in the area. Fans found the stage setup “simple and old school,” but that didn’t take away from the fervor of the band as they started to play. Fans said the band has proven once again to be top-tier performers, complete with amazing vocals and hard-hitting riffs.
The biggest complaint among their fans is that the group only plays for a little over an hour. Their fan base wanted more of a good thing when they were able to catch them live.
