Katastro is a band that formed in 2007 in Tempe, Arizona. The current line-up consists of vocalist Andy Chaves, guitarist Tanner Riccio, drummer Andrew Stravers, and bassist Ryan Weddle. The group is known for blending rock, funk, hip-hop, and blues. Katastro took the local scene by storm when they first started and quickly broke into the national circuit, opening for acts like 311, Passafire, and many others. They released their first EP in 2007 and a second the next year. In 2009, their first full album was released. Poking Holes in a Pattern was produced by Bob Hoag. They released their fourth album in 2011 and another full-length album in 2014. The “boys from the Valley of the Sun” have big plans for the future as they continue creating music and writing songs.
