About Brandon Lake
Born Michael Brandon Lake on June 21, 1999, in Dallas, Texas, Lake is a Christian worship singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Lake used to be a member of Bethel Music and Maverick City Music, but now writes songs at Seacoast Church in Charleston, South Carolina.
The 35-year-old Lake started his recording career through a crowdfunding campaign in 2015. The successful campaign helped him raise funds to produce an album, which became his first independent release back in 2016.
Lake signed with Bethel Music in 2019 and received a GMA Dove Award for his songwriting contributions. He released his second studio album in 2020, and it went to number six on the Christian Album charts.
His third album, Help! (2022) was all about mental health. Lake grew up in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where his father was a pastor. He developed a passion for the guitar as a child, as he taught himself to play using YouTube. He helped the worship team at his church and was later hired as a worship leader for the church’s college ministry.
Brandon’s wife is Brittany Lake and the couple celebrated their 14th anniversary in February 2025 and he has dedicated the song “Almond Eyes” to her. The two have three sons and still live in Charleston where he still sometimes preaches at the Seacoast Church.
