About Deftones
Deftones is an American alternative metal band hailing from Sacramento, California that started in 1988. The original members of the band are Chino Moreno on vocals, Stephen Carpenter on lead guitar, Abe Cunningham on drums, Chi Cheng on bass, and Frank Delgado on keyboards and turntables, having joined in 1990 and 1999, respectively.

Significant Awards and Achievements
During their many years on the music scene, Deftones have won many prizes, especially for their third album. Their third album, White Pony, won them their first Grammy for Best Metal Performance with the song Elite in 2001.
Twenty years later, they received another Grammy in 2022 for Best Remixed Recording with “Passenger (Mike Shinoda Remix).” In the same year, they also got Grammy nominations for Best Metal Performance for the song “Genesis” and Best Rock Performance for the song “Ohms”.
The band’s influence did not stop with the Grammies and White Pony helped them to win the “Kerrang! Award” for Best Album in 2000. Their self-titled album, Deftones, was nominated in the same category in 2003.
White Pony also won the California Music Awards for Outstanding Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album. Koi No Yokan, their album released in 2012 won the Album of the Year at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards in 2013.
The band still manages to captivate listeners internationally, which brought them to be nominated for the Best International Band at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards back in 2013.
