Deftones return to the road in 2026 at an important moment in the band's evolution. Following the release of Private Music in August 2025, the Sacramento group continues to balance the crushing heaviness that made albums like Around the Fur and White Pony influential with the atmospheric songwriting that has defined their more recent work.
For longtime fans, the tour offers another chance to hear the songs that helped shape alternative metal. For newer listeners, it is an opportunity to experience a band that continues to evolve more than three decades after its formation.
This guide covers tour dates, openers, setlists, and what makes the current chapter of Deftones' career worth paying attention to.
Why the 2026 Tour Matters
Deftones 2026 Tour
Tour Dates: February 25 – October 24, 2026
One reason Deftones continue to stand apart from many of their contemporaries is that the band has never become a nostalgia act. While songs such as "Change (In the House of Flies)," "My Own Summer (Shove It)," and "Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)" remain central to the live experience, recent albums have continued to shape the band's identity.
Unlike many legacy rock acts, Deftones have continued to build their live identity around new material. The arrival of private music in 2025 reinforced that approach, adding a new chapter to a catalog that stretches from Around the Fur and White Pony to some of the band's most atmospheric recent work.
Released on August 22, 2025, private music was produced by longtime collaborator Nick Raskulinecz and marked the first studio album to feature touring bassist Fred Sablan as part of the recording process. The album expanded on the balance between heaviness and atmosphere that has become a defining characteristic of Deftones' later work.

What Makes a Deftones Show Different?
A Deftones concert often feels different from a traditional metal show. Moments of explosive energy can quickly give way to passages built around atmosphere, texture, and space. That contrast has become one of the band's defining strengths, attracting listeners from alternative rock, shoegaze, post-hardcore, and metal backgrounds alike.
The band's audience extends well beyond traditional metal fans. A single performance can move from the chaos of "My Own Summer (Shove It)" to the dreamlike atmosphere of "Sextape" or "Rosemary" without losing intensity. That ability to unite heaviness and vulnerability remains one of the defining characteristics of the Deftones live experience.
