About Halsey

Born Ashley Nicolette, Halsey is a 31-year-old singer and songwriter who was born in 1994 in Edison, New Jersey, to parents Nicole and Chris Frangipane, who dropped out of Fairleigh Dickinson college for a while after finding out Nicole was pregnant with Ashley.

Like many in music, Halsey first gained recognition from self-released music she put on social media. In 2014, she was signed, and Halsey released an EP followed by her first studio album (BADLANDS), released in 2015, which was a commercial and critical success.

BADLANDS came in at the number two spot and was certified double platinum and included a number of hit singles, which helped Halsey’s star rise even faster. Since its August 28, 2015, release, the album has over 9 billion streams.

BADLANDS is also one of the only records in the history of music to have had every song certified Gold, Platinum, or Multi-Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America® (RIAA).

Halsey’s second studio album from 2017 (Hopeless Fountain Kingdom) had a more “radio-friendly” sound to it and got heavy airplay, helping her move to a larger label. Halsey was the featured musical guest on Saturday Night Live on January 13, 2018.

Her third album Manic, was a creative release that featured two album covers—the more well-known "Halsey" version (The Face), and an iconic painted look, and a more personal, darker, and limited edition "Ashley" version signed with her real name.

A Halsey Signed Manic Vinyl Album can now fetch as much as $150 on the open market.

Halsey is known for her distinctive tone, and she made it onto Time’s list of 100 Most Influential People in the World in 2020. She has three Grammy nominations, three Billboard Music Awards, an American Music Award, and many more worthy accolades.

In her personal life, Halsey is engaged to fiancé Avan Jogia, an actor and musician famous for his roles in Victorious and Twisted. The happy couple has been dating since 2023 and announced their engagement in 2024. He proposed to her in Barcelona, Spain.

Halsey Songs

Heading into 2026, Halsey has an impressive five songs on Spotify with over 1 billion streams in "Closer” (#1 with 3,514,287,681), “Without Me“ (#2), “Eastside” (#3), “Boy With Luv” (#4), and the classic hit Him and I“ (G-Eazy and Halsey, #5).

Following in her top 15 are “Bad at Love” (#6), “Be Kind” (#7), “You should be sad” (#8), “Gasoline” (#9), Now Or Never” (#10), “Colors” (#11), “Sorry” (#12), “Walls Could Talk” (#13), “Graveyard” (#14), and “Die For Me” (featuring Future and Halsey, #15).
