About Iron Maiden
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame may finally recognize heavy metal dinosaurs Iron Maiden, who started in Leyton, East London, England back in 1995 by bassist Steve Harris, and are considered the new pioneers of the British heavy metal movement in the Eighties.
The group’s third studio album, The Number of the Beast (1982), is considered one of the best heavy metal albums ever, and it has sold more than 20 million copies (and counting) and was tabbed by Rolling Stone magazine as the 4th-best heavy metal record of all-time.
After some disruptions, lead singer Bruce Dickinson and guitarist Adrian Smith returned to the fold in 1999, and Iron Maiden saw a major resurgence with albums The Final Frontier (2010), The Book of Souls (2015), and Senjutsu (2021), all hitting #1 in over 25 countries.
This epic band has put out 41 albums (17 studio), four EPs, seven compilations, 47 singles, 20 video albums, two video games, and headlined a crazy 27 tours. And the documentary Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition hits theaters on May 7. What have you done with your life?
The 2026 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees will be announced sometime in April, and expect legends Iron Maiden to finally make the prestigious musical cut this time around.
