The US Open Qualifying tournament is always a huge thing for players looking to qualify for the US Open, but for fans of elite tennis and Grand Slam events, US Open Fan Week serves up a week full of entertainment and special events from the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in New York City.

Here, we will show you all of the signature events for Fan Week US Open and which ones are free and which ones require a special, separate, paid ticket. Although admission to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center is free, there are some events in this family-friendly Fan Week that actually do require a ticket.

2024 US Open

The 4 sessions of Qualifying for the 2024 US Open will be held from Monday, August 19 through Thursday, August 22, with the gates opening at 10am and the qualifying matches serving up at 11am.

How To Qualify For The 2024 US Open Tennis
2024 US Open Tennis tournament will be held this summer at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. Here are the 3 ways players can qualify for 128 spots in the tourney's Men's and Women's Singles draws.

32 players—16 from the Men’s field and 16 from the Women’s field—will have played their way into the main bracket by Friday by winning all three of their qualifying matches on the hard court. There are 64 Men and 64 Women who make the Main Draw.

The Main Draw will start on Monday, August 26, with Men’s and Women’s first-round Singles matches. The US Open Women’s Singles Final will be played on Saturday, September 7 (ESPN, 4 ET/3 CT/1 PT), with the Men’s Singles Final coming a day later on Sunday, September 8 (ESPN, 2 ET/12 CT/11 am PT) to wrap up the three-week tourney.

Last year in 2023, American Coco Gauff defeated Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka in three sets to win the Women’s Singles crown, while Serb Novak Djokovic beat Russian Daniil Medvedev in straight sets to capture his fourth Men’s Singles title at Flushing Meadows.

US Open Fan Week

The US Open Fan Week is one of the highlights of the US Open, the final Grand Slam of the year. This much anticipated 7-day event at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens, NY, runs from Monday, August 19 through Sunday, August 25, 2024. Fan Week holds fantastic arrangement of activities, inclunding concerts, exhibition matches, and family friendly events. Here’s everything you need to know about attending US Open Fan Week.

Numerous concerts, special exhibition matches like Legends of the Open and Stars of the Open, and events like Arthur Ashe Kids' Day and Flavors of the Open will highlight US Open Fan Week. The Fan Pass allows special seating for the Legends of the Open, players’ practices, and even chances to win prizes around the grounds at Flushing Meadows, including tickets to the Men’s and Women’s Singles Finals.

Fan Access Pass

Although admission to the grounds is free, you will need a special free Fan Access Pass to get into some of the week’s events. To get the Fan Access Pass, simply go to usopen.org/FanPass, then enter your first and last name, home address, email address, birth year, and phone number. Then, simply register for the promotion.

You can register for the Fan Access for a pass for Fan Week US Open during the promotional period which runs from May 28, 2024 to August 25, 2024 (at 11:59pm ET).

Monday, August 19—Legends of the Open

The Legends of the Open presented by FAGE exhibition match will be held at Arthur Ashe Stadium from 7 pm to 9 pm ET and is always one of the most entertaining events during Fan Week. After getting your Fan Access Pass, you can enjoy a free spot in the VIP seating for this match.

This free exhibition match will include 10-time ATP title winner James Blake—a native of nearby Yonkers, New York—former world No. 2, German Tommy Haas, and the former No. 1 Women’s player in the world, Garbiñe Muguruza, winner of two Grand Slam events (French Open, 2016 and Wimbledon, 2017).

Friday, August 23—US Open Block Party

The US Open Block Party takes place at Fan Week Center Stage from 7pm to 10pm and features a festival-style gala with a collection of DJs and entertainment, appearances by players and more.

Saturday, August 24—Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day

A family-friendly event, Arthur Ashe Kids' Day powered by Net Generation, runs from 9:30am until 4pm (ET). This fun event celebrates the legacy of the great Arthur Ashe, after whom the marquee court at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center was named.

Icon Ashe was the first winner of the Men’s Singles Final back in 1968. This historic stadium and center court was opened in 1977, and it is the largest tennis stadium in the world, with a capacity of 23,711.

Sunday, August 25—Open Practice Sunday

One day before the Main Draw play gets underway on Monday, August 26, fans can watch the players practice on the US Open Practice Courts on Sunday, August 25, surrounded by a wonderful selection of activities and Fan Week Center Stage Programming on the grounds.

Again, you will not need to buy tickets for any of these events for US Open Fan Week, but you will need that special Fan Access Pass, which lets you enjoy all of these events for absolutely no charge.

Sunday, August 18—Sounds of the Open

The Sounds of the Open concert this year at Louis Armstrong Stadium at the UTSA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center will feature platinum-selling country star Dierks Bentley featuring Chase Rice and will start at 7:30 pm and run until 10 pm (ET).

Tuesday, August 20—US Open Mixed Madness

Center Court and the aforementioned Arthur Ashe Stadium are the site of this new addition to US Open Fan Week called US Open Mixed Madness, an entertaining mixed doubles delight where a portion of the proceeds go to the USTA Foundation.

So, what duos will be playing in Mixed Madness? Aryna Sabalenka and Taylor Fritz, Coco Gauff and Ben Shelton, Paula Badosa and Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Naomi Osaka and Nick Kyrgios will all be on center court for this exhibition. This will be a blast.

Wednesday, August 21—Stars of the Open

Stars of the Open, presented by Chase, serves up on Wednesday of US Open Fan Week at 7 pm and features an all-star lineup of scheduled players, including defending US Open Men’s Singles champion Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcarez, Andre Agassi, Andy Roddick, John McEnroe, Frances Tiafoe, Venus Williams, Jessica Pegula, Gabriela Sabatini, and Caroline Wozniacki.

Tickets for the Stars of the Open range from an affordable $33 to $55, and a portion of sales from this event will also go to help the USTA Foundation. The exhibition will also be played at the center court of Arthur Ashe Stadium on the grounds of the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens.

Thursday, August 22—Flavors of the Open

The big culinary event for US Open Fan Week is Flavors of the Open presented by Dobel Tequila and starts at 6:30pm (gates open at 5:30pm) on Thursday night at Louis Armstrong Stadium.

You can purchase 2 General Admission Tickets for this tasty event for $372.50, and this will allow ticket holders to sample premium dishes from the elite US Open food purveyors, including celebrity chefs Ed Brown, Pat LaFrieda, Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto, Alex Guarnaschelli, and Kwame Onwuachi, as well as choice offerings from Benjamin Steakhouse.

Friday, August 23—US Open Media Day

Starting at noon and running until 2pm at Arthur Ashe Stadium on Friday, US Open Media Day will give fans a chance to watch the players doing interviews three days before Main Draw play serves up on Monday at Flushing Meadows and the hallowed hardcourt surface (Laykold).

The free Fan Access pass will also allow fans to attend 2024 US Open Media Day during US Open Fan Week, and for a second consecutive year, Media Day will devote a decent portion of the event to the fans attending.

Among the players announced to participate in US Open Media Day in the main stadium at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center are ATP Singles No. 4 ranked Men’s star Carlos Alvarez, Frances Tiafoe, defending Women’s US champion Coco Gauff, and Iga Świątek, the No. 1 ranked Singles player on the Women’s circuit despite her third-round loss to Yulia Putinseva at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships, ending an impressive 21-match winning streak.
