The jukebox musical’s choreography was created by Christopher Wheeldon and is based on a book by Lynn Nottage, complete with music from Jackson’s albums. The musical was supposed to be in 2020, but was delayed due to the pandemic that shut the city down. It officially opened in 2022 and a London edition started in 2024.
