Seether is a rock band from South Africa that formed in 1999. They started performing under the name Saron Gas, but changed it in 2002 upon moving to the U.S. to avoid confusion with the deadly chemical that shares a similar name. Seether has been described as alternative metal, hard rock, post-grunge, and more, but their earliest work is known more as nu metal. They take a lot of influence from Kurt Cobain and Nirvana.
