The Great Gatsby Musical is a 2023 stage musical based on the book by Kait Kerrigan, which is based on the 1925 novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The music and lyrics were written by Jason Howland and Nathan Tysen. The show previewed on Broadway in 2024 and opened a month later. It debuted in Europe in 2025. Before it hit Broadway, it premiered at the Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, New Jersey, then transferred to the Broadway Theater. The musical has also crossed the ocean and moved to Asia to premiere in Seoul. The North American tour was announced in January and is set to begin in 2026. The New York Times describes the play as Jazz Age Fun while Entertainment Weekly praises the cast’s performances as multidimensional.
