The complex consists of the SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center, the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium, and the Jean Runyon Little Theater. The SAFE Credit Union Convention Center, situated at 1400 J Street, serves as a key convention and meeting hub. In 2019, it saw a significant expansion with the demolition and reconstruction of its original 1974 structure, adding over 111,000 square feet. The SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center, known before as the Community Center Theater and located at 1301 L Street, is an entertainment venue with 2,452 seats. It hosts both national touring acts and local performing arts groups like the Sacramento Ballet and Philharmonic Orchestra. Opened in 1974 and designed in the brutalist architectural style, it underwent its first renovations in 2021 by DLR Group. The Sacramento Memorial Auditorium, at 1515 J Street, is a versatile venue with 3,867 seats. Completed and opened in 1926 and 1927 respectively, it was closed in 1986 due to disrepair but reopened in 1996 after renovations. It is now part of the Convention Center Complex and is recognized on the National Register of Historic Places. The Auditorium is utilized for a diverse range of events including concerts, high school graduations, and was the location for Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's 2007 inauguration.
