Coheed and Cambria is a rock band that formed in 1995 in Nyack, New York. The group utilizes parts of pop, heavy metal, progressive rock, and post-hardcore in its music. All of their albums but one are concepts and based on science fiction storylines from the series The Amory Wars. Coheed and Cambria have eleven albums, three live albums, and some special-edition releases. Their latest album came out in 2025, and six of their records made it onto the Top 10 on the Billboard charts. Two of the members were in a band called Toxic Parents in 1995, but split off and formed a band called Beautiful Loser. Once that band broke up, the members got together and started experimenting with musical styles. They performed for the first time in 1999 and started adapting the science fiction comics that Claudio Sanchez wrote.
