IU's song “Love Wins All”: What is the Meaning?
It's the hot topic of 2024 among die-hard K-pop fans: the appearance of IU and V in the music video "Love Wins All." The supporters rate the stars' joint performance positively and believe that the chemistry between the two is right. But it wasn't just this fact that sparked a discussion. For example, there were also comments about people with disabilities being shamed. How come? To clear up the facts, we first must take a closer look at the music video.
What is "Love Wins All" by IU about? The ballad is about the hope for love – a love that overcomes all obstacles and endures to the end. It wins everything.
In the music video, V and IU play a couple living in a post-apocalyptic world fighting for survival. A cube-like creature stalks the two lovers, and they try to hide. There seems to be an invasion taking place. They manage to escape for a short time and find a camcorder. They see and experience an alternative and happy world as they look through its lens. But this lightheartedness doesn't last long: the Cube finds and eliminates them. The camcorder shows the final footage – the wedding dress and the tuxedo they were wearing fall to the floor as empty shells and land on a pile of other leftover clothing.
So, what does this content have to do with disabilities? In the video, V is blind in one eye and IU is deaf. With the help of the camera, all the injuries disappeared. Some fans felt discriminated against.
