Rauw Alejandro has broken into the scene as one of the best singers and songwriters. The young artist was born on January 10, 1993, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where he spent most of his childhood. The Latino singer is 5 feet 8 inches (173m) tall and has been popping on the screen with his signature braids.

However, his rise-to-fame story in the music industry is mixed with many doubts. In his high school days, Rauw wanted to become a professional footballer. However, his dreams met with misfortune when he was told he couldn't because his performance on the field fell short of expectations. So this time, he decided to switch locations to Orlando, Florida, while searching for scouting opportunities.

Meanwhile, the worst was about to happen after he met a career-ending injury at the age of 20. Meanwhile, Rauw was already developing an interest in music. His father - Raúl Ocasio, was a skilled guitarist, while his mother - María Nelly Ruiz, was a singer. Together, they exposed him to contemporary music from legends like Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley.

Fortunately for him, his childhood friend, Anuel AA, had been a rapper since high school. So Rauw decided to try his luck in music. In 2014, he started his rap venture on Soundcloud, recording his first song titled “Inevitable.” Two years later, his mixtape - "Punto de Equilibrio," hit the scene.

2017, Duars Entertainment recognized his talent and signed him to the record label. This move had an impact on his career. However, the turning point came in 2018 when he joined "Los Proximos," a Sony Music Latin project scouting young talents. This marked the beginning of Rauw's success in the music industry.

In 2019, Rauw Alejandro made his mark after releasing the hit single “Fantasías,” a collaboration with Farruko that reached number 25 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart. Fast forward to 2020, and his hit “Tattoo” with Camilo not only reached No. 7 but also secured a spot on the Global Ex U.S. chart.

Over the years, he has been featured on many record-selling singles, including “Nostálgico,” - the song by Rvssian, featuring Rauw Alejandro and Chris Brown, which gained over 400 Million Spotify streams.

In just three years since his debut album “AFRODISÍACO,” he has earned two Latin Grammys. The success of his most recent album, “PLAYA SATURNO,” led to GRAMMY nominations in 2023, including Best Urban Music Album and Best Reggaeton.

This year marks the peak of his success as he will be headlining the Vibra Urbana festival in Miami alongside his childhood friend - Anuel AA.
