When Did Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre First Work Together?
American rappers Dr. Dre (Andre Young) and Snoop Dogg (Calvin Brodus) first worked together back in 1992 for the Deep Cover movie theme song by the same name.
The two Californians hit it off and then worked on the first solo album by Dr. Dre called The Chronic which provided us with such Hip Hop gems like “Nuthin But a “G” Thang,” “Dre Day,” “Let Me Ride,” “Lil Ghetto Boy,” and “Deeez Nuts”, among others.
Dr. Dre’s triple-platinum breakthrough album The Chronic has sold over three million copies in the US and reached No.3 on the Billboard 200, before embarking on a solo career. Dr. Dre was a member of the pioneering rap group N.W.A. along with Ice Cube, Eazy-E, DJ Yella, MC Ren, and Arabian Prince.
The Dr. Dre produced Doggystyle—when Snoop was still called Snoop Doggy Dogg back in the day—was a masterpiece debut for the young 28-year-old rapper and gave us such brilliant songs like “Who Am I? (What’s My Name?)”, “Murder Was the Case,” “Lodi Dodi,” “Pump Pump,” “Ain’t No Fun,” and “Gin and Juice.”
Why is the New Snoop Dogg Release Called “Missionary”?
The title of Snoop’s new album was revealed on ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith’s podcast called Know Mercy in 2022
“You’re the first one to hear this: me and Dr. Dre have been working on an album for the past two months,” It’s produced by Dr. Dre, it’s our 30th anniversary to Doggystyle. And the name of the album is Missionary,” Snoop Dogg told Smith.
“Why that name?” Smith asked.
“The first album was Doggystyle,” Snoop quickly responded with a laugh.
Doggystyle has sold more than 11 million copies.
What is the Newly Released Single From Missionary Called?
