The Cintas Center in Cincinnati, Ohio first opened its doors in 2000 as the new home of the Xavier Musketeers men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball teams. A breakthrough into the Final Four still eludes the Musketeers, however, despite 9 appearances in the Sweet 16 and 3 in the Elite 8. The team was even ranked 1st in the nation going into the 2018 March Madness tournament after a 29-6 season, but ended up getting upset in the Second Round. But as the atmosphere at the Cintas Center helps to attract more and more talented players each year, surely success is only a matter of time. As well as Musketeers basketball and volleyball games, Cintas Center has also hosted NCAA championships for women’s basketball and volleyball, high school state basketball championships, and Cleveland Cavaliers NBA preseason games. Concerts, comedy shows, and lectures from famous speakers are common, with such well-known names as Dave Chappelle, Michael Moore, and Jane Goodall drawing crowds to the Cintas Center over the years.
