Boston Calling 2025 is set to take place at the Harvard Athletic Complex in Allston, Massachusetts**, over Memorial Day weekend, spanning from May 23 to May 25. Since 2017, Boston Calling has called this iconic venue home and it provides convenient access to all performance areas. There will be multiple stages that will host more than 50 performances across genres including headliners Luke Combs, Fall Out Boy and Dave Matthews Band. The festival will also include a variety of activities including local food vendors, a 100-foot Ferris wheel, art installations, life-size games, and more. Conveniently located and easily reached by the T on the Red Line, Harvard Square stop, the Harvard Athletic Complex remains a fantastic festival location.

Ticket Information and Purchase Details

Ticket sales for Boston Calling 2025 begin on January 8 at 10:00 a.m., with a range of options available for general admission, VIP, and Platinum experiences. One day and three day passes are available to anyone wanting that full festival experience. A new two day festival pass is also on offer this year, aimed at those wanting to dip their toe into the festival atmosphere for shorter periods.

General Admission

3-Day General Admission Ticket

This ticket gives access to all musical performances on 3 stages on 3 days at Harvard Athletic Complex. Access to 30+ food vendors, a diverse selection of beverages (beer, wine, soft drinks, and free water stations), and participation in partnership activations and art displays are included. It also includes access to the 100 foot ferris wheel. Kids under 10 can get in free with a ticketed adult.

1-Day General Admission Ticket

A one-day pass to the festival with all the amenities of the 3-Day General Admission ticket but without Ferris wheel access.

GA+ Experience

3-Day GA+ Ticket

In addition to all amenities included in the General Admission ticket, this ticket provides unlimited GA+ Lounge access for relaxed seating and shade. A cash bar with craft cocktails and an increased beer and wine menu and a private bar with complimentary water and soft drinks are also available. It also includes a dedicated GA+ Concierge to aid with festival needs and a separate entrance lane to the festival.

Platinum Experience

3-Day Platinum Ticket

All of the amenities of the GA and GA+ experiences are included with this ticket, plus exclusive front-of-stage viewing at the Green main stage. Unlimited access to the Platinum Lounge with relaxed seating, dedicated air-conditioned restrooms, and a complimentary bar serving premium beer, fine wine, craft cocktails, soft drinks, and water is also included. It also features all-inclusive culinary offerings throughout the day, on-site parking (one per transaction), and a dedicated Platinum concierge. Each day the ticket also includes exclusive unique festival gifts.

History and Evolution of Boston Calling Music Festival

The Boston Calling Music Festival boasts a rich history that dates back to its founding in 2013. The festival was firstly conceived as a way to highlight various music genres ranging from alternative indie, through rock to pop. The first was held over Memorial Day weekend at City Hall Plaza, the first major public gathering since the April 15 bombings of the Boston Marathon. Tickets were sold out and the event turned into a cathartic and much needed success.

The festival's success led to a second show in September 2013. Boston Calling, founded over a decade ago, has become one of New England's premier music festivals, bringing some of the best-known names in music and drawing huge crowds.

The festival moved to the Harvard Athletic Complex in Allston in 2017, more than doubling the area from 6 acres to 16. With this move, the festival could be more of a festival experience, featuring three stages, comedy sets, and a Ferris wheel. While there have been some initial hiccups—in the form of long lines and app glitches—Boston Calling's new location has been key in transforming the festival from a one-day, one-location event to a full weekend destination.

The festival has continued to be built on feedback from attendees. Following complaints over overcrowding in 2024, the event has made great strides in 2025. The merging of the rotating stage system is one of the key changes. The aim of this enhancement is to offer everybody better views, lots of room to roam, and a better audio/video experience.

Boston Calling 2024 Highlights

Headliners Ed Sheeran, Tyler Childers, and The Killers were among the diverse and exciting lineup for the 2024 edition of Boston Calling. Although it has proved popular, the festival has come under fire over overcrowding and unsafe conditions, most notably on Sunday when temperatures rose. It ended up with nearly 800 medical encounters, including 23 hospitalizations, as Boston EMS reported.

Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeran turned Boston Calling 2024 into his own amazing headline show at the Harvard Athletic Complex, running overtime to a rapturous crowd that sang every word along to hit after hit with Sheeran’s familiar loop pedal mastery.

Tyler Childers

Tyler Childers captivated Boston Calling's Saturday night crowd with a 20-song set that seamlessly blended his Kentucky roots with cosmic visuals, delivering hits like "All Your'n" and "Lady May" while keeping the audience entertained with his witty commentary and preacher-like stage presence.

The Killers

The Killers crowned Boston Calling 2024's final night with a dynamic set featuring firework displays and Brandon Flowers' commanding stage presence, opening with "Jenny Was A Friend of Mine" and closing with a reimagined version of "Mr. Brightside" that brought the festival to a spectacular end.

Additional Highlights

Indie rock, hip hop and legendary artists all came together at the festival. Other acts included Leon Bridges, Madi Diaz, Khruangbin, Trey Anastasio & Classic TAB, Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls and Megan Thee Stallion.

Future Changes

Finally, the festival is introducing layout improvements that are in line with improving the festival as a whole. Both main stages (Red and Green) will combine into one epic rotating stage with state-of-the-art sound and video to create an immersive experience. Crowd flow and congestion will be eased and improved with the redesign of stage areas so attendees can easily move between performances.
