Centered in the neighborhood of Uptown Charlotte is First Ward Park. The park is the brainchild and the result of a collaboration between The University of North Carolina, Charlotte, Levine Properties, Mecklenburg County, and the City of Charlotte. It is one of the four major parks in the city of Charlotte. The entire park was designed by Shadley Associates, who won the bid for the project through a national architecture competition.
With two water fountains, art programs, and an arbor, the park is the perfect outdoor spot for family gatherings. The park is surrounded by an office tower, apartment complexes, a parking deck, and hotels.

Each day had different headlining acts. On the 13th of October, the headliners were Carolyn Wonderland and Tony Eltora. The second day of the festival, the 14th, had Roomful of Blues, John Nemeth, The Ragbirds, and Bill Miller as the headlining performers. In June 2018, the Party at the Park weekly music festival took place at the park. On the 30th of the same month, the Bearden Music Series featuring Blues Beatles was held at First Ward Park.
Additionally, in 2018, First Ward Park hosted a wide variety of concerts, including River Whyless on the 1st of June, Cris Jacobs on June 15th, Acoustic Syndicate in August, and Seth Walker in September. A year later, Keller Williams hosted a concert at the park.
