Baltimore Ravens

In 1996, the Ravens brought NFL football back to Baltimore for the first time in over a decade when they joined their fellow feathered friends the Orioles of MLB in representing the city. The new team in Baltimore was called the Ravens apparently in tribute to former Baltimore resident Edgar Allan Poe (the eminent poet who penned the “The Raven”). The team had a bit of a forgettable start in their first few years, but soared to the highest perch of all in 2000 when they not only made their first-ever playoff appearance but went on to defeat the New York Giants 34-7 to win Super Bowl XXXV. Unusually, the Super Bowl MVP was a linebacker, Ray Lewis, who dominated for the Ravens, blocking four passes and tackling anything that moved. The team has been a regular playoff contender in the years since, winning a second Super Bowl (XLVII) in 2013. Hopes were high for a third when the Ravens finished first in the AFC last year, but they crashed out in the playoffs to Patrick Mahomes and then Kansas City Chiefs. Can the Ravens bring home a third Super Bowl in 2024-25? Buy your Baltimore Ravens tickets from TicketX and be there to find out!

Rival Teams

Nothing gets NFL football fans all revved up like watching their team square off against one of their biggest rivals. Here are two of the Baltimore Ravens’ most significant rivalries.

Baltimore Ravens vs Pittsburgh Steelers

The rivalry between the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers has grown out of the two teams vying to dominate the AFC North division. Games between the pair are known for their tough hard-hitting competitive spirit as well as some very close scorelines, with many coming down to a single field goal or less. The Steelers currently rule the all-time record at 35-25 and have won 3 of the 4 playoff meetings between the two. The Ravens and Steelers are set to play one another twice (at least!) in the 2024-25 season, on November 17 at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh and on December 21 at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore.

Baltimore Ravens vs New England Patriots

The Baltimore Ravensrivalry with the New England Patriots went from intense to downright nasty in 2009 after the Patriots squeaked past the Ravens 27-21. Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs and Patriots quarterback Tom Brady not only got into it during the game, but went on to snipe at one another in the media in the days that followed. The Patriots have a big lead in the all-time series at 11-4, but postseason meetings stand at 2-2. While the Ravens and Patriots are not scheduled to meet in the upcoming regular season, there is always a good chance that they will clash in the playoffs!

When does the NFL Preseason start for the Baltimore Ravens?

The Baltimore Ravens preseason kicks off at home on August 9 at home against the Philadelphia Eagles and on August 17 against the Atlanta Falcons at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. The Ravens then head back to Green Bay in Wisconsin to finish off their postseason at Lambeau Field against the Green Bay Packers on August 24.

2024-25 NFL Season Predictions

Which Teams Will Go To the 2024-25 NFL Playoffs?

There will be 14 teams that qualify for the Postseason—seven from the AFC and seven from the NFC—and despite an influx of new and talented QBs drafted by teams in the 2024 NFL Draft, expect at least 11 of the same teams in the NFL Playoffs as last season.

So, who are the four that might not make it this time and who didn’t make the Playoffs last year but might in the 2024-25 season? The Buccaneers, Browns, and Steelers may find it harder this time around, with the Falcons, Bengals, and Jets possibly making the Wild Card round.

Last season, the Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers met in the NFC Championship Game, and the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs collided in the AFC Championship Game, with the 49ers meeting the Chiefs in the Super Bowl in Las Vegas.

Expect those four heavyweights, along with the Packers, Eagles, Cowboys, and Rams in the NFC and the Texans and Bills in the AFC, to make it back to the NFL Playoffs next season.

Which Two Teams Will Go To Super Bowl LIX and Why?

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs will be seeking their third straight Super Bowl win. With genius Head Coach Andy Reid, TE Travis Kelce, and a much-improved defense, they are the best team in the AFC and have lofty expectations. The Lions had the Niners on the ropes last year and have steadily improved the last two seasons. They are eyeballing a shot at the Super Bowl and have the skill position players and chip on their shoulders.

So Jared Goff and Detroit (12/1 to win the Super Bowl, DraftKings) could meet the best player in the NFL—Mahomes—and his Chiefs (+550) in Super Bowl LIX at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Sunday, February 9, 2025.

Trade Rumors and Draft Picks

After a great regular season followed by narrowly missing out on the Super Bowl, the Baltimore Ravens will be looking for that special added ingredient to improve their roster with free agents, new talent from the draft, and trades with other teams leading into the upcoming season. The Ravens selected Nate Wiggins (CB) in the 1st round of the 2024 draft and will be looking to his youth to add some spark to their team next season. To add depth and experience, the Ravens may also turn to the trade or free agency, with rumored trade targets including Quinn Meinerz (G) of the Denver Broncos, Darious Slayton (WR) of the New York Giants, and Malik Willis (QB) of the Tennessee Titans.

M&T Bank Stadium

M&T Bank Stadium has been home to the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens since 1998. Locals have been known to call the stadium “The Bank” or “The Vault” as a nod to its sponsor or, most amusingly, “The Big Crabcake.” M&T Bank Stadium is located alongside Oriole Park at Camden Yards, home of the MLB’s Baltimore Orioles. Along with all regular season and playoff Ravens home games, M&T Bank Stadium also hosts high school and NCAA college football games, concerts and music festivals, lacrosse games, and international soccer matches. Hungry visitors to M&T Bank Stadium will find plenty of tempting offerings, from tacos and a kosher grill to pit beef sandwiches and, of course, crabcakes.

M&T Bank Stadium Bag Policy

The M&T Bank Stadium bag policy asks visitors to limit the items they bring to the venue. Visitors can bring in a clear plastic bag (maximum size: 12" x 6" x 12"), a one gallon clear plastic bag, and a small clutch purse (maximum size: 4.5" x 6.5") with or without handles or straps. Each guest can also bring in two sealed water bottles (16.9 oz). Food can be brought in (inside a clear plastic bag), as can blankets, tarps, jackets, and binoculars. All items are subject to search.

M&T Bank Stadium Rules

M&T Bank Stadium has an extensive list of rules meant to ensure a safe and fun day for all at the venue. Most of them are common sense, but a few of the most important rules to remember are:

  • Conduct no discriminatory or offensive gestures or language, no unauthorized entry into the playing field, no physical violence or fighting (may result in prosecution).

  • Smoking smoking is not allowed anywhere inside or outside the stadium except for the designated smoking areas outside Gates A, B, C, and D. This include e-cigarettes and vapes as well.

  • Banners/Flags banners and flags are permitted as long as they do not block the view of other fans or cause offense to others. No commercial material is allowed on banners.

  • Camera Policy small still cameras (no video cameras) are permitted. No professional cameras or long lens cameras.

Visit the stadium’s fan guide page for a full list of rules at M&T Bank Stadium.
