Phish is an incredible band, in many ways giving concerts that are not really concerts but something that might best be described as “experiences” involving total involvement in the music. Phish developed their wildly devoted following through the 1980s and 90s, much of it via word of mouth (sort of “going viral” before there was such a thing as going viral). Unlike most bands that adhere to a predetermined setlist, Phish tends to devote considerable time to improvisation and “jamming” on stage, giving their live concerts a sense of spontaneity and freedom that enthralls fans and keeps them coming back, as no two performances are ever exactly the same. As the band’s emphasis has always been more on live performance than recording (with many of their albums actually recorded live), attending a Phish gig is an experience like no other due to the level of attention to detail in terms of lights, spectacle, and overall atmosphere. Phish fan culture is also known for being open and welcoming, with long-time fans happy to bring newbies into the fold. Uniquely, the band permits fans to record and distribute videos and audio recordings of their concerts.

Phish has scheduled a number of limited tour dates for the last few months of 2024, though unless you live in the state of New York, you’ll need to book a flight (or train) there to see them. The band is first set to appear at MVP Arena in Albany, New York on three consecutive nights (October 25, October 26, and October 27) followed by what is sure to be one of the year’s most exciting concert series with a four-night stand at New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden from December 28-31 to close out the year. For those thinking that it will be easy to secure Phish tickets given that they perform sets of 3-4 concerts in the same venue on consecutive nights, think again! Aside from their general popularity, Phish has legions of fans who are so devoted that they will book tickets for multiple nights, especially due to the band’s tendency to improvise and experiment. Phish will also be appearing in Mexico in early 2025 for four straight concerts at the Moon Palace in Cancun.
Phish's tour setlist may change depending on concert venues and dates. The following setlist is taken from Phish’s concert at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colorado on September 1, 2024, based on data from setlist.fm.
