Banda MS, full name Banda Sinaloense MS de Sergio Lizárraga, is a Mexican banda group that was founded in 2003. The band, which hails from Mazatlán, Sinaloa (hence the abbreviation of MS in their name), was started by brothers Alberto and Sergio Lizarraga. Their first album was released in 2004. They have had members come and go over the years, some leaving to become solo artists and some joining other bands. They received an award for their song “Solor Con Verte,” which sat in the number one spot for 12 weeks on the Monitor Latino chart. The award was handed to them at their first concert during their maiden U.S. tour. Tragically, their lead singer, Alan Ramirez, was shot in the neck in Mexico City when traveling to see his wife in 2016.
