About Texas Tech Red Raiders Mens Basketball

The Texas Tech Red Raiders men's basketball team represents Texas Tech University in NCAA Division I competition. Competing in the Big 12 Conference since 1996, the Red Raiders have a strong basketball tradition with 22 NCAA Tournament appearances, including a trip to the national championship game in 2019, where they lost to Virginia in overtime. Known for tough defense and disciplined play, the program rose to prominence under coach Chris Beard and is currently led by Grant McCasland, hired in March 2023. Texas Tech plays home games at United Supermarkets Arena, which provides a passionate and competitive atmosphere. The Red Raiders continue to compete at a high level in the Big 12 and maintain a respected national presence.
