Since its launch in 2010, AAMI Park has been a top location for sports and entertainment in Melbourne. The venue was initially known as the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium before being renamed AAMI Park as part of a sponsorship agreement.
The popular park is home to two men’s soccer teams, Melbourne Victory FC and Melbourne City FC. It also hosts two rugby teams, the Melbourne Rebels and the Melbourne Storm. The stadium is packed with training equipment for all these teams, and the Melbourne Demons also use it as their administrative headquarters.
Beyond just sports, the AAMI Park has also hosted some of the biggest entertainment shows in Australia. In 2019, Taylor Swift’s tour attracted over 98,000 people over three days. Top artists like Ed Sheeran, Foo Fighters, Paul McCartney and others have also performed on stages in AAMI Park.
After the park was launched in 2010, the first game to be played on it was a rugby match between Australia and New Zealand. Since then, it has hosted countless rugby and soccer games. In 2015, the opening ceremony and some games in the AFC Asian Cup were played in the stadium. Similarly, in 2023, six games in the Fifa Women’s World Cup were played on these grounds.
The next events coming up in the stadium are games for the Rugby League and the Football A-League Men competition. In addition to this, there will be entertainment shows in the stadium before the year runs out. Keep a close watch on TicketX to know when to grab a ticket for the next concert in the AAMI Park.
This 30,000 seating capacity arena was designed so everyone with a ticket gets a good view of all the action. Check out the detailed seating chart of the AAMI Park on TicketX for a clearer view of the stadium.
