Venue: Chicago Street Course (capacity 100,000)
Location: Chicago, Illinois
Date: Jul 7
Series: Nascar Cup Series
Held on the temporary Chicago Street Course in downtown Chicago, the Grant Park 165 is the 20th race on the Nascar Cup Series calendar. The first ever Grant Park 165 was held last year in 2023, with huge numbers of racing fans braving the elements to catch a glimpse of a race that was substantially delayed and shortened due to wild storms in the area. Fingers will be crossed that the Windy City cooperates with the racing schedule a bit more in 2024. As well as being an exciting new race in one of America’s largest cities, the Grant Park 165 also occupies a vital place in the regular season, with just 7 more races remaining before the Playoffs. Teams and their drivers will be desperate to pick up maximum points in Chicago. The Grant Park 165 itself was intended to be a 220 mile, 100 lap race, but after the problems encountered last year, the choice was made to keep it to 165 miles (265.542 km) with 75 laps of its 2.2 mile (3.5 km) road course. The winner of the inaugural 2023 Grant Park 165 was Shane van Gisbergen of Trackhouse Racing with a time of 2:50:48. Get your Grant Park 165 race tickets from TicketX today!
