Shenseea, born Chinsea Linda Lee, is a dancehall singer from Jamaica. She appears as a guest on Kanye West’s “Pure Souls” song from 2021. She got a Grammy Nomination for Album of the Year in 2021 and released her own debut studio work in 2022. That album went to number two on the Reggae Charts. Her second album reached number four. She has been recognized with a MOBO Award as well as a NAACP Image Award. Shenseea was born in Jamaica and while her mother was Jamaican, her father came from Korea. She dropped out of college, where she was studying Entertainment Management, due to financial issues, but she always aspired to be a singer. She got signed to the Rockstar label and started performing on side stages at festivals in 2015. By 2017, she performed on the main stage and toured internationally. While she has dancehall music skills, she’s also known for rapping freestyle.
