The origin of the Fillmore Auditorium in Silver Spring traces back to the early 20th century with the Majestic Hall in San Francisco, California. Later, in 1954, the hall was renamed the Fillmore Auditorium. From then on, it was utilized as a concert venue for musicians, including soloists and bands. Throughout its history, the venue faced many management changes before reopening in 1994.

In 2007, Live Nation bought the venue. With its new ownership, the Fillmore Auditorium became a franchise for entertainment venues. Across the United States, clubs were renamed Fillmore, and in some cases, new venues were created. This is the story of the Fillmore Auditorium in Silver Spring.
