Florida Strawberry Festival

Originally conceived as a way to promote the region’s impressive annual strawberry crop, Florida Strawberry Festival has grown into what is considered by many to be the state’s best outdoor fair. Taking place in early spring (late February-early March) across 11 days, the Florida Strawberry Festival grounds in aptly-named Plant City (about 30 minutes from Tampa Bay) are home to every type of fairground entertainment one could want, from rides and games to cotton candy and hot dogs. Recent years have seen concerts featuring major acts (usually held twice daily) become the main attraction of the event.
