About Pentatonix

Pentatonix (or PTX) is an a cappella group from Arlington, Texas. Their pop-style vocals mixed with harmonies, riffing, beat boxing, scat singing, and vocal percussion help them to stand out. They are most known for their Christmas songs, but they also perform original material and medleys. The group consists of vocalists Kevin Olusola, Matt Sallee, Kirstin Maldonado, Scott Hoying, and Mitch Grassi. They formed in 2011 and won The Sing-Off’s third season, which landed them a recording contract. Their third release hit the number one spot on Billboard’s Independent Albums chart and got them signed to RCA Records. Their holiday releases have been the most popular, and their second, That’s Christmas to Me, was the highest-charting holiday album by any group since 1962.
